1. ALPHA GPC
Alpha-GPC is a very popular cholinergic nootropic that is often used for its cognitive-promoting properties. Most often, Alpha-GPC is marketed as a memory-booster due it’s proven memory-boosting effects.

Studies on mice and rats show that alpha-GPC improved working memory and verbal memory learning.
With other benefits (alpha-GPC can also enhance power output in athletes, it can decrease our cognitive decline, and it improves cognition in people with Alzheimer’s disease), it’s often of the most recommended nootropics and part of many popular nootropic stacks.
The standard dosage of alpha-GPC is 300 – 1200 mg/day.

2. BACOPA MONNIERI
Bacopa Monnieri is another popular nootropic herb that has been used for centuries in traditional medicine, mainly for its positive benefits on longevity and cognitive enhancement. 
One of the main benefits of Bacopa Monnieri is its effect on improving memory in older and younger people, which makes it a very popular nootropic.
Since it’s also known for its anti-depression effects, it’s a great nootropic that can be taken as an individual compound (get it here) or as part of a nootropic stack (here is one my favorite ones).
The standard dosage is 300 mg/day, but it has to contain 55% of the active bacoside compound.
Notice: You have to take it for 8-12 weeks to notice the real benefits.

Centrophenoxine is another nootropic that is used for its positive benefits on cognition (especially memory). Compared to other nootropics on this list, it’s not yet well-researched and very rarely used in premade nootropic stacks. However, it can be bought as an individual compound. 
It carries the benefits of DMAE and preliminary studies show that it can boost cognition in the elderly. The first potential is shown, but more research has to be done.
The standard dosage is up to 3 doses of 250 mg/day, but do consult your doctor to be 100% on the safe side.

4. CITICOLINE (CDP-CHOLINE)
CDP-Choline is a nootropic compound that appears to provide several cognitive-promoting benefits, but it’s mainly used for its memory-boosting benefits. 
Citicoline as cognizine
There have been studies done on healthy adults which show the positive effects on memory when supplementing citicoline. Studies on animals show potential positive effects on young and healthy individuals as well.

The standard dosage of citicoline is 500 – 2000 mg/day which may be divided into 2 daily doses.

5. GINKGO BILOBA
Ginkgo Biloba is without a doubt the most often used nootropic herb in the world. It’s been well studied and it can provide several benefits including improvement of your memory, but it can also slow down your cognitive decline. 
Despite several positive benefits, its effects are rather mild, that’s why it’s almost necessary to combine it with other nootropics.
The standard dosage is 120 – 2mg/day (usually it’s taken before you need to perform well, for example before an exam)

Huperzine-A is a nootropic stack known for its cognitive enhancing benefits. Scientifically, it degrades acetylcholine, which is the learning neurotransmitter, which may be the main reason for its benefits.

Standard daily dosage is between 50-200 mcg, but there is a lack of studies that would prove the most effective daily dosage.

Curcumin is the main bioactive substance in turmeric. It’s mainly known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  But there are studies that show that supplementing curcumin can improve your memory as well .
Since curcumin is poorly absorbed, it’s recommended to take it with piperine, which improves the absorption.
The standard dosage is 500 mg of the curcumin combined with 20 mg piperine up to three times per day.
