L-Theanine is believed to be one of the most effective supplements (or nootropics) for social anxiety. 
It’s an amino acid that can be found in tea leaves (especially in green tea).
Why is L-Theanine so effective?
- It supports GABA levels and produces a calming effect. So, L-Theanine promotes a state of calmness and relaxation, which makes any social activity much easier
- L-Theanine increases alpha brain waves, which are associated with the state of relaxation
- L-Theanine is also involved in the dopamine and serotonin secretion
So, supplementing L-Theanine (or drinking green tea before a social activity) can help you out.
Recommended daily dosage: 200 mg of L-Theanine (or drink a big cup of tea before an activity); also, you can combine it with caffeine for more energy (100 mg of caffeine + 200 mg of L-Theanine)

L-Tyrosine is another amino acid that can help us if we have issues with social anxiety.
What’s the role of this amino acid in our brain?
Well, it helps our brain to create neurotransmitters, which of course get depleted during stressful social activities. 
L-Tyrosine is also known to improve our mood and reduce stress.
Now imagine how helpful can this be if you are anxious?
Recommended daily dosage: Up to 2 grams/day, usually 500 mg/day (you can take it 60 min before a stressful social activity)

Ashwagandha is a popular adaptogen herb, native to India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. It has been used for centuries in India. 
This herb is very potent and can provide a whole list of proven benefits:
- It can help to decrease stress and anxiety
- It can boost cognition and concentration
- It can increase our energy
A study that was done on people with anxiety disorders showed that supplementing 300 mg of Ashwagandha twice daily over eight weeks was associated with a 56.5% reduction in anxiety symptoms. 
So, Ashwagandha is one of the herbs that should definitely “be on the menu” if you want to help yourself get rid of anxiety.

Bacopa Monnieri is another adaptogen herb (one of my favorites) that was already used in the 6th century by scholars to help them improve their memory. 
But what else is Bacopa Monnieri useful for? You guessed it, Bacopa can help to reduce anxiety and even stress.
And it is considered a very safe nootropic to supplement.
