Is Alpha Brain Worth The Hype? (My 2019 Review) 4.6/5 (10)

Alpha Brain Pill

Alpha BRAIN is a nootropic stack developed by Onnit labs, a trendy brand in the supplement industry. It has scientifically proven results, and a dozen of professionals athletes, performers, successful entrepreneurs, and other PRO’s recommend it. But is Alpha Brain nootropic worth the hype?

Your inception recommends

It has clinically proven results

It is one of the most popular nootropic stacks

Great reviews & feedbacks from high-performers

Your Inception does not recommend

The formula contains some less researched ingredients

It doesn’t have an open source formula

There are better supplements on the market

Onnit’s Alpha BRAIN is one of the most popular and discussed nootropic stacks I’ve ever come across.

Onnit is known for its big range of nootropics, vitamins, minerals, performance supplements, etc.

When I first heard about Alpha BRAIN (it must have been years ago), I was fascinated by the marketing the brand was doing.

Years later, it has become one of a few nootropics on the market that has clinically proven results to improve your focus & memory.

Besides, it probably has the biggest list of professional recommendations I’ve seen so far.

Those reasons convinced me to give it a try and see how it works.

Let’s check it out.

Alpha Brain Review

The Founder of Alpha BRAIN once said: “Alpha BRAIN works the first time you try it.”

Since this is rarely the case with nootropics, I was eager to see if it is true.

So I’ve decided to order a pack (90ct), try it and do a full review.

Week 1:

As always, I stopped taking other nootropics about a week before I started taking Alpha BRAIN. Then when the first test day came, I took two capsules in the morning with breakfast.

About 30 minutes after I took the capsules, I started feeling slightly more focused. There was no dramatic change of mood, but there was a mild energy push.

The focus lasted for about 2-3 hours, not more. I believe I felt a bit more motivated for the first few hours. There was no drastic change, but working was slightly more manageable.

Not bad for the first day.

I continued taking two capsules/day (sometimes I took them on an empty stomach, sometimes after breakfast).

Most days, I experienced similar results – a bit of focus, a bit of additional energy and a bit of more motivation.

Week 2:

I continued taking the capsules for another week, and nothing changed.

I tried taking three capsules, but there was no dramatic change. I felt better when I took two capsules.

Personally, I didn’t experience any side effects, but a few of my team members had some issues (you can read more about side effects below).

Apart from that, I was satisfied with this nootropic supplement.

My conclusion:

During my Alpha Brain Review period, I figured out that there is no doubt Alpha BRAIN delivers some benefits.

It can increase your focus, it may improve your mood, it may improve your memory (in the mid-to-long term), and it can help with processing speed.

But is it better than other nootropic supplements? How about the side effects? And do I recommend it?

Alpha Brain Ingredients

Onnit Flow Blend, 650 mg

Flow Blend contains the following nootropics:

  • L-Tyrosine: L-Tyrosine is an amino acid which appears to improve cognition during acute stressors. Research shows that L-Tyrosine also improves our working memory and well-being.
  • L-Theanine – L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green teas, and it is known to be a relaxing agent that people use to reduce stress and increase alertness.
  • Oat (straw) extract
  • Phosphatidylserine – Phosphatidylserine (PS) is an ingredient that is vital for cognitive function. Our body synthesizes it, but adding it as a supplement shows positive effects to improve memory and cognitive capability.
  • Vitamin B6, 10 mg – Vitamin B6 is one of the B-vitamins, used in producing a necessary coenzyme in the body. While essential and with many small benefits, there appear to be no highly effective unique reasons to use this supplement. [1]
  • Cat’s Claw Extract, 350 mg – Uncaria Tomentosa (Cat’s Claw) is an Amazonian vine that has been traditionally recommended for anti-inflammatory and fatigue syndromes.

Onnit Focus Blend, 240 mg

  • GPCALPHA GPC is a choline-containing supplement that is used by younger people for improving their memory and by older people to decrease their cognitive decline. Athletes also use alpha GPC to enhance power output.
  • Bacopa extract – BACOPA is a nootropic herb that is used as a memory booster and nootropic to improve cognition. Besides, using Bacopa monnieri can decrease anxiety.
  • Huperzine A (Huperzia Serrata) – Huperzine-A is a cognitive enhancer that inhibits an enzyme that degrades the learning neurotransmitter, acetylcholine; due to this, a relative increase occurs. It belongs to the cholinergic class of molecules and may be useful in fighting the cognitive decline in the elderly. It may need to be cycled. [3]

Onnit Fuel Blend, 65 mg

  • L-Leucine –  Leucine is the primary BCAA. Supplementing Leucine on its own is still beneficial and may be cheaper than BCAA mixes. [4]
  • Vinpocetine –  Vinpocetine is an alkaloid that is derived from the periwinkle plant, and it is among the most popular nootropics due to its cognitive effects. It is believed that taking Vinpocetine could increase the blood flow to the brain.
  • Pterostilbene – Pterostilbene is a methylated stilbene molecule that is used as a cognitive-booster and also for reducing cholesterol and glucose.

So much about Alpha Brain nutrition facts.

Alpha BRAIN Dosage

According to Onnit, the recommended daily dosage is two capsules per day.

Since we don’t know the exact amount of each compound in this supplement, I would not recommend you to take a higher dose than recommended.

That’s the way to avoid an overdose with Alpha Brain.

When to take Alpha BRAIN?

I recommend taking it in the morning before going to work.

How to take Alpha BRAIN?

It’s recommending taking Alpha Brain with a light meal. The best way is to take it with breakfast. But if you don’t eat breakfast, you can take it on an empty stomach.

Alpha BRAIN Benefits

What are the benefits of taking Alpha Brain pills?

It supports brain functions such as memory, focus, and mental speed.

You can expect to achieve better cognitive performance and to be more productive.

Alpha BRAIN Side Effects

One of the most significant issues with Alpha BRAIN supplement is a few side effect that many users report.

In general, Alpha Brain is considered safe.

However, I’ve been noticing a lot of users report stomach issues and headaches when supplementing it.

I never had issues when taking it and following the recommended daily dosage. But people from my team also experienced problems with headaches and even brain fog.

Based on my research, I believe that most people won’t experience any side effects. But if they happen, do stop taking it and find an alternative (which I’ll talk about below).

Can You Build Up A Tolerance To Alpha BRAIN?

There is no evidence that you can build up a tolerance.

There are some ingredients in the stack that might need cycling them, so that’s what I would recommend.

I usually follow 5 days on, 2 days off formula, or 3 weeks on 1 week off.

It is just my recommendation.

Alpha Brain Alternatives

Are there any better nootropic stacks on the market than Alpha Brain?

Yes, they are.

Alpha Brain is a very decent nootropic supplement, but the formula hasn’t been optimized for a few years.

In the meantime, many better supplements hit the market.

Let me share with you the most important ones.

Alpha Brain vs Mind Lab Pro

So, which supplement is better – Alpha BRAIN or Mind Lab Pro?

Alpha BRAIN and Mind Lab Pro have been competing from the very beginning.

Sadly (or luckily), Mind Lab Pro has been continuously updating their formula. While they were both fantastic stacks years ago, it’s now clear that Alpha BRAIN formula is underdosed, it lacks some essential nootropics, and it brings way too many side effects.

Therefore, if we consider the quality of the products, the effects, and the price, Mind Lab Pro is a clear winner here.

Alpha Brain vs Qualia Mind

Qualia Mind is a far superior formula to Alpha Brain.

It contains more nootropics, it’s better dosed, and it works amazingly well.

But do I recommend it more? Check out my full comparison here >>

Alpha Brain vs Optimind

Optimind is a cheap, low-quality, underdosed nootropic stack that used to be trendy years ago.

Between the two, Alpha Brain is a clear winner.

So, if you search for an Alpha Brain alternative, you know where to look at.

Alpha Brain Reviews & Feedbacks

Alpha BRAIN used to be one of the most widely used nootropic stacks.

Out of over 450 reviews on the Onnit website, the average review is over 4,2/5 stars.

Most reviews you can find about it are as follows:

“I liked it after the first few weeks but i figured it wasnt worth it. After a month and a half of using it i startted to notice major differences in my focus, motivation, and overall cognitive function. TOTALLY WORTH IT!”

“Ive been on this for a few months now, feels like w-d40 in my brain, able to recall information i would think is forgotten from months ago. Less of that gimme a minute to remember, transitions between thoughts are smoother. Definitely happy with my purchase. Would recommend to anyone”

Onnit alpha brain review

Clinical studies support alpha BRAIN effectiveness; therefore, I honestly expected such great reviews.

However, as soon as you dig deeper, you’ll see that many people reported side effects and other issues.

So you have to be careful!

Where to Buy Alpha BRAIN?

If you want to buy Alpha BRAIN, you can order it here >>

The price varies based on the number of pills you order, but the standard 60ct costs around $50.

Go to their website, try it out for yourself, and I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Does Onnit offer a free trial for Alpha Brain?

No, you cannot get a free trial or a sample of Alpha Brain. However, you can order a smaller package, which is cheaper.

The reason you cannot get a free sample is that it takes a few days to weeks to get the main benefits.

Therefore, a sample doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Your Inception Final Recommendation

Your Inception Guarantee

Does Alpha Brain Work?

Yes, Alpha Brain can improve your cognitive performance.

However, there are better nootropic stacks available on the market.

Mind Lab Pro, for example, is much better dosed, more effective, and available at a similar price.

Therefore, Your Inception recommends supplementing Mind Lab Pro.

VERDICT: 3,5/5

BEST FOR: FOCUS AND MEMORY
